Why did Cambridge professor Jason Arday resign?

But then reports emerged about alleged plagiarism. A campaign driven by a handful of academics took a closer look at his work, igniting no shortage of racist abuse online and on Wednesday Professor Arday resigned from his post after Cambridge University announced a new investigation. Following his resignation, supporters of the youngest Black professor in Cambridge's history claim he's been singled out unfairly. Scholars who've analysed his work say his alleged plagiarism is an extreme example. But in a higher education sector struggling with funding pressures, some worry Arday’s may not be an isolated case.
