Surviving Most Dangerous Favela of Brazil 🇧🇷

Today, I explore Rocinha, one of the largest and most well known favelas in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Often associated with crime and safety concerns, Rocinha is a place I had always been curious to see for myself. I started outside the favela, hired a motorcycle taxi, and travelled through different parts of Rocinha to experience what life actually looks like inside. From the crowded streets and hillside houses to the everyday activities of local people, this was a completely different side of Brazil than what most tourists get to see. Honestly, the experience was both scary and exciting. As I explored, I also talked about the challenges faced by favela communities, including inequality, poverty, public services, crime, and the complicated relationship between local communities, armed groups, and government authorities. This journey gave me a different perspective on Rio de Janeiro and the realities of life in Rocinha.
