Seven dead, including two police officers, after car driving wrong way collides with marked vehicle

Two officers killed in a crash, which claimed the lives of five others, have been named. In a press conference, Cleveland Police paid tribute to the two officers aged 37 and 38 who died on the A66 in South Bank, Teesside, in the early hours of Saturday morning. Cleveland Police Chief Constable Victoria Fuller said: “This is an incredibly sad day for Cleveland." The officers were in a marked police car that crashed with a Volkswagen Passat carrying five people, which was travelling on the wrong side of the road. Everyone in both vehicles died in the crash.
