News Central Visits NAF ATR 42 Crash Scene in Igbokoda, Ondo State | Eyewitnesses Recount Incident

Recovery teams are pushing deeper into swampy terrain in Ondo State to retrieve wreckage from the Nigerian Air Force ATR-42-931 aircraft that crashed a day earlier. News Central correspondent Nii Balani reports from the crash area, where state officials have deployed amphibious equipment, cranes and other machinery to improve access to sections of the swamp believed to contain parts of the aircraft. An eyewitness told News Central that residents heard a loud sound shortly after the aircraft reportedly lost communication with air traffic controllers at about 9:30 a.m. He said the aircraft disappeared into the swamp, while early rescue attempts were frustrated by deep water and difficult terrain.
