The agenda are: - Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations (AICS) Act - Establishment of the National Center for Geriatric Health - Amendments to the Government Assistance to Students and Teachers in Private Education (GASTPE) Act - Amendments to the Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act - Confirmation of various government appointments and military promotions before the Commission on Appointments (CA) According to the analyst, this is also a possible change of senate leadership. While the executive order highlights legislative urgency, political analysts and lawmakers note that the special session serves as a critical battleground to resolve the ongoing leadership impasse between the blocs of Acting Senate President Sherwin Gatchalian and Senator Alan Peter Cayetano.
