Iran: Trump threatens ‘obliteration’ or takeover of Kharg Island

First Donald Trump said he wanted Iran's oil and might seize Kharg Island. He wants a deal before 6 April and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz. Why is Trump focused on Kharg Island? Tiny, very rocky, but also strategically important, 90 per cent of Iran's oil exports pass through it. Losing control of it would be a major economic blow to Iran, especially now it has effectively closed the Strait of Hormuz - removing the competition and driving up oil prices which have now hit $116 per barrel.
