I Might Have to Leave Japan After 10 Years

After 10 years of living in Japan, I’ve reached a point where I’m not sure what comes next. This week’s Japan vlog is a personal life update about my health, work, money, friends leaving Japan, and the possibility that I may have to leave someday too.
Most days lately have been pretty simple. I go to the gym, come home overheated, make some udon, clean my old Japanese house, and try to answer emails without getting distracted. Then my neck decided it no longer wanted to turn, which ruined the very "impressive" routine I had going.
I also explain why I haven’t been posting much. Since leaving my bunny-bar job and tiny Tokyo apartment, I’ve been dealing with career stress, a private dispute, health problems, family and relationship issues, and a lot of anxiety about my future in Japan. When too many problems pile up, I freeze. Cleaning and working out give me one small thing I can actually finish.
I’m slowly decluttering my Japanese home and planning to list some of my collection on Mercari Japan. Having less stuff makes the house feel calmer. It would also make moving a little easier if my life changes in the future.
This weekly vlog shows my daily life in Japan as an American woman living in Tokyo. There’s gym footage, Japanese summer heat, food, home organization, mental health, starting over, and one extremely stiff neck.
If life feels heavy for you too, I hope this video keeps you company. We can’t solve everything in one day. Doing one useful thing is enough for today.
