Description
After getting a quote for a dental implant from my UK dentist, I decided to explore dental tourism in Budapest - one of Europe's most popular destinations for affordable dental work. I'd spoken with the clinic beforehand and was quoted between €1,000 and €1,300 for the procedure, so I booked my flights and headed out.
When I arrived, I was handed a new quote for €4,900!! On top of that, they told me I needed additional work that my UK dentist had said was completely unnecessary. I wasn't prepared to pay that kind of money on the spot, so I declined and walked out.
It wasn't the experience I was hoping for, but it did leave me with a few unexpected days free in Europe. So I did what any spontaneous traveller would do - I packed my bag and jumped on a train to Vienna.
