Thousands of people in British Columbia’s Okanagan region have fled because of explosive and extremely dangerous wildfires. As Angela Jung reports from Vernon, B.C., as many as 230 homes are believed to have been lost in the Bradley Creek fire.
Tens of thousands of people are under evacuation orders in the area of Spokane, Wash., which is being ravaged by devastating wildfires. Heather Yourex-West is at the scene to report on the neighbourhoods that have been razed, the man arrested for allegedly starting one of the fires and how cooler weather is helping bring a brief reprieve.
The latest trade tariffs imposed by United States President Donald Trump have triggered a U.S. court challenge yet again. After the U.S. Supreme Court struck down Donald's Trump's first round of global tariffs, his administration quickly announced a second round under different sections of the country's trade act. As Heidi Petracek reports more than two dozen states are now suing the Trump administration, arguing the tariffs are unlawful.
Plus, a new study, if successful, could change the way women are diagnosed with breast cancer across North America. Moncton-based researcher Breathe Bio-Medical has developed a diagnostic breath test for patients regardless of tissue density. As Ella Macdonald reports, the company is hoping to roll out the new technology across hospital and clinic settings as early as 2030.
