The House justice committee on Wednesday (April 22) voted to defer the opening of a box containing the BIR records of Vice President Sara Duterte, her husband Manases Carpio, and their companies, in relation to her impeachment proceedings. This, after BIR commissioner Charlito Mendoza stressed to panel members that the contents of the box should only be examined in an executive session and not made public, citing the National Internal Revenue Code.
