We spent some much needed quality time together, and while she was here we tackled a very satisfying house project... staining the concrete slab floor of my off-grid straw bale house using a completely natural process: iron sulfate as a base layer, followed by a strong walnut hull tea rich in juglone, a compound that chemically bonds with iron and the minerals in concrete to create a permanent color change. What we ended up with is a deep, coppery, earthy floor that is warm and inviting and completely one of a kind. A piece of art, that I get to live on for the rest of my life. I'm building my own 1,200 square foot straw bale house on 40 acres of raw desert, completely off-grid. This is what that looks like. Thanks for being here ♥️
